A Nile can grow up to 7ft and a water 9ft. This is total length inclusive of tail. The tail would be about half the total length or more. Though these sizes are maximums. From what I heard the largest water monitor in captivity is 7ft . Not sure about Niles.

In terms of temperament, a water is supposed to be more docile and tames more readily than a Nile. However, it does get bigger. There are people out there who do have tame Niles and there are probably aggressive waters out there too. But on the whole waters are calmer creatures.

nile or water. How much research have you done on either? From your questions it doesn't sound like your ready to take on a task of this multitude. Im not trying to be rude but before you take a test you have to study, correct? Do your homework, ask lots of questions about the care, temps,cage size, diet, etc. from experienced herpers on this forum. Then get a subscription to reptile magazine, then visit other forums, read caresheets, buy books and read, read read!!! And maybe and i do mean maybe if you catch on fast, in a year a two go out and purchase a Savannah monitor and see how long you can keep it alive before you even consider the species of monitor your inquiring about.

sorry... I'm lazy -_-;;

where is 'experienced herpers'

and... what do 'herp' means?

I'm foreigner ^_^;;

There isn't what 'herp' means in english dictionary...

Well if there are no books about reptiles in your native language, learn english then learn about reptiles in general then study monitor lizards then make an intelligent decision as to whether you could care for a monitor or any other reptile, which i doubt as in your on words you describe yourself as lazy
