If you're comparing the same thickness glass to "true" plexiglass it will always be cheaper.

The differences come in when you compare tempered glass and/or cheaper grade acrylics sold as plexiglass. The cheaper acrylics are not worth working with, IMO.

Regardless, try a local glass shop.

Chris is right...as usual.

True Lexan and Plexiglass is always more expensive than glass...

I just got two pieces of 1/4" thickness glass (36"x19.5" for 20 dollars at a local glass distributor. I didnt go to a Glass shop or Auto glass place, these places wanted over $30 per sheet.
The place I went to in Miami told me to come back when I build my next cages, and they will give me a deal on the 1/8" tempered for the fronts...

I priced some plexi for the front of the cage and it would have been over $50 bucks for the same size, and their would have been wasted plexi from the sheet...

What glass shop did you go to in Miami?. I live in south Florida and am building some cages that I want to use glass on.
