Has any one tried this method of preparing bulk foods for their turtles?

It looks to me to be well balanced - if you add a little live protein and fresh produce with each feeding.

The author of the recipe is a host here on Kingsnake...I have it bookmarked myself.
One of these days I'll give it a try in a smaller quantity and see how mine like it: I wouldn't want to make up a big batch and have them snub it.
