how would you define "reduced"?

ginevive May 04, 2004 08:22 AM

OK, how do you define a reducedd pattern? Can it merely be an otherwise-normal BP with few or no black dots inside the "alien head" markings? Do there have to be large expanses of unbroken light areas in the pattern? Or can it be a normal BP with no black spots save for the areas around the saddles?

Here's an example of my reduced pattern male

It depends on who you ask. Some/most people will call a completely normal looking Ball a reduced pattern just to try & sell it for a couple hundred more than what they paid. When you see a true reduced, you will know it.

I agree it depends on who you talk to. Here is my early 02 male reduced. Generally they would be nicely colored, clean belly and usually light eyes. Mine fits all those bills. Hopefully he will be a daddy this spring! Waiting on several girls to lay now! Enjoy!

I totally agree with "When you see a true reduced, you will know it." if you just go to the ball classifieds I'm sure you can see it for your self. Check all the reduced pattern / banded adds. compare pics & also look at the pics in this thread & I'm sure you can tell the difference. There's a big difference between a ball with reduced pattern through out their body ( no dots, less black pattern, & less stripes or whatever) compared to a snake the is missing just a single black band or stipe at the tail.

mistysprouse May 04, 2004 11:09 AM

some might call this one reduced cause of the lack of black spots, but I always just consider her normal.

Yeah, those people are IMO scammers, cuz they know exactly what they have (NORMAL BALLS). Today I seen an orange sided Ball on there, and if I'm not mistaken, the orange usually turns to nothing but brown as an adult (dosen't seem like a good deal at a couple hundred $$ now).

Are you referring to the guy asking $250 for it?

Made me laugh.

.....Isn't that the same guy chewing out some kid on "the other classifieds site" for trying to sell a bp with a yellow belly for a couple hundred?

Hi there. My line has light eyes, clear belly's and are born with a brighter color overall. (see pic)As adults thay show a lighter, washed out color. In mine it's also co-dom. Hope this helps!

We were lucky to come across this little girl last year in Daytona, and we like to call her a Super Reduced.

Hi Mike
Thanks. We are hoping for a clutch of ThinBanded Pastels this year but most likely to have them regularly available summer 2005.

GOD Bless

We hope to prove her in 2005, and if she keeps eating the way she has been we may have a very good chance. If not it will be 2006.

Thank for looking,
