Sorry, don't have any pictures but what I did was really easy. When I built the cage I was renting so I could have anything attached. Basicly I Built a base using 1"x8"x8' boards around a 4x8 sheet of BC plywood. The plywood sits on a frame of 2x2 lumber so I can walk in the cage. The 1x boards give the base rigidity. From the base up I built a frame of 1/2 sch40 PVC. Around this I wrapped 1/2 grid hardware cloth secured with wire ties. Its pretty simple I might be able to send you some photos but I am in the process of moving. Any questions write.

If you can could you send me a picture as all the complicated stuff make my head spin, im not that bright you see and im only 13. It might be useful if I had the picture to try and achieve, or I might end up with something grotesque because I didnt understand.

Katie,

If your parents will let you build it like mine. I used 2 x 4 and plywood. It has a plywood floor and is raised up by a couple 2 x 4's under it. I used 2 X 4's to build the frame and welded wire fence, available at Home Depot, to close it in. The door is a regular wood frame screen door, again from Home Depot. Good luck and post pics of your enclosure when it is done.

Thanks everyone those pics etc. will be really useful when I come to building my own cage. Ill ask my mum about it and try and get my dad to help me build it. Hes the handy man of the house. My dad said we could change the garage to a reptile house and have all of the animals in the same room so that should be pretty cool.
Ill try and remember to send you all a pic of the new enclosure when its done, I am also building one for my tegus.
Is it not a good idea to put two iguanas in the same cage because I saw in your pictures that you only had one iguana in each cage.
thanks again

Is that because they fight or because they get too big to place together?? Are they territorial??
I havent got two but I was just wondering for future reference. Would you happen to know whether it is alright to place two tegus together or is that a bad idea??
Any way thanks for the input
If you have anymore info tell me.

Iguana's do not see other iguanas as "friends".
They see them as competition for food, space, heat, light, water, attention, etc.
A very territorial ig may even see a human as competition, and yes, they are territorial.
A single ig won't be lonely if you give it your attention & love. And some people do keep more than one ig.
Just know that before you attempt more than one that igs are expensive, time consuming, energy sucking, mess making balls of scales....that you just can't help but love & adore.
Just when I think I have mine figured out he pulls a new one & I simply have to shake my head & laugh.
They are a great joy & fun but a lot of responsibility.
Enjoy....

LEEWAY CORUCIA RESEARCH CENTER (LCRC)

If properly introduced, multiple Iguanas can be housed together. There are many variables sex, age, breeding condition, size of the enclosure, etc. A grown-up male in full orange breeding colors for instance (even if ok before) would be obviously a different story.

Sincerely,
Brian

Thanks everyone for all of your help, if you have anymore info it would be greatly appreciated. I was just wondering if a cupboard is ok to place an iguana in if I changed the doors?? Also would it be better if I put the cupboard upright or laying on its side?? I heard that iguanas are tree dwellers so I guess it would be better if I put the cupboard upright?? Am I right??
