Couple baby pics

MATTMAN May 04, 2004 02:16 PM

These are Candy X fosters first babies at just a few days old. RedFlame red Sandfire X Red/Orange Snows. They hatched speratically over a 4 day period which is enough to drive any first time breeder insane LOL beleive me!!! I just can't wait till they have their first shed so I finally get to see some of the colors they are hiding from me under there. Dial up modem beware... lots of pics. tried to shrink them, and cut quality the best I could for the dial up users without distorting the pics to much. ejnoy, and I hope you all can see them!! More pics will come after the first shed, and by that time clutch two will be here as well. Let me know what you think of them all please? I'm like a nervous wreck here LOL

Thanks Mike.. Yeah my couple got a little stretched LOL as I've been holding on to these little dragons pics for a while now LOL. You should have seen them the day they hatched hehe they looked so BLACK.... I thought I got a clutch of mud colored dragons They have lightened up quite a bit with each passing day, and I guess the first shed is when I'll get a better idea of what kind of colors they will have as they grow. Sorry I did not take any pics sooner, but I was such a nervous wreck and Cheri S can vouch for that LOL. Thank God she was there to set me straight, and tried her best to calm my nerves and tell me things I was experiencing were normal hehe I would have lost my mind if I did not have her to talk to.

Hey Kylie nice to hear from you. I'm not sure what I'm keeping back yet, but I'm thinking one from each clutch possibly if I have the cage space. I have quite a few clutches from this pair and one on the way, so there should be a great selection of nice dragons. Not to mention my big Anna girl who will be laying as well.

Those are some beautiful babies! Congratulations! REALLY nice coloring, even before shed!

Mystical-Dragons May 04, 2004 10:34 PM

Glad you liked my new little pride and joys reptichik... just can't wait till my second clutch hatches, and of course these guys first shed should be awesome too. Now which one is going to be my new keeper is the hard part LOL. I love them all, but really want one that shows a bit of the mothers colors and the fathers enthusiastic nature for life and of course food hehe. Thanks so much for the complements. Matt

So I figured I'd just use the web site name with the right email address and hope it doesen't take years for the people to figure out that Mystical-Dragons is me Mattman cause they missed the post LOL Thanks Christy I'm glad you liked the little buggers. They sure are getting more active by the day, and starting to eat, and eat.

They look great Matt! Glad to hear they are doing well and hatched without problems. I am also glad that I am on a list for a boy! Congrats.

Mystical-Dragons May 04, 2004 10:45 PM

Thanks Phil glad you like the new little dragons. If you would have seen them when they hatched you would not have believed they are the same dragons today... No one told me they hatched out dark, almost black LOL!! Even the belly LOL it must be strewssful work getting out of those eggs. I looked at Foster then Candy then wondered how the H@LL I got all dark babies LOL. Finally they are coloring up nicely I guess as they get use to the routine and eating, and basking the colors really started to show. I can't wait till they shed though.. That's all I'm hearing from people around here who have bred before, and are interested in my babies.. "Oh man wait till they shed" LOL. Thanks for the complements Phil and I'll talk to you soon. Matt.

Are you busy yet? I like the ole sign on of Mattman

Mystical-Dragons May 05, 2004 01:05 AM

Yeah I'm starting to get busy as they are eating more and more each day. Oh I go and change my sign on name and now find out people acctually liked it LOL. No I had to change it as it was leading people to the wrong email, and I figured this will help people remember my web site adress cause it has the - between mystical-dragons in it.

Such a variety of colors and patterns...I bet it's going to be hard to decide which ones to hold on to =). I forget how tiny they are...so cute.

Peter

Mystical-Dragons May 05, 2004 12:12 PM

Thanks so much Peter!!! You should have some beauties for sure yourself with that pair you bred. I'll be waiting for those, and have my fingers crossed for you To tell you the truth peter they showed very little color the first day or so after hatching then I guess as they relax, and get use to the routine, and start eating, and basking the colors really start to show. I was just looking in the bins now as a matter of fact and some look even better today then they did yesterday LOL. It is a toss up between two though for keepers LOL. I'm only keeping one from every clutch as I'm short on room here until I move which got pushed back of course from May to November which really stinks as I had plans for a herp room and some cages and a new snake rack on order!!! Oh well. Murphy's law In action I guess.. Enough of my ranting. Thanks so much for the complements on the new little ones. It sure has been nerve wracking, scary, and a bundle of joy to have them all in one LMAO. The good outweighs the bad big time though, and I'm so happy to finally have Foster and Candy's babies here. Second clutch should not be that far behind these.. They were laid 22 days after the first, and are looking huge and are perfect pure white plump eggs.

yeah they sure are a great group of dragons so far I have quite a few more on the way actually. The second clutch was only laid 22 days after this clutch so another two weeks till I have another gaggle on my hands. There is a third too but momma Candy is in no rush to get the third out. Which is fine with me. Anna my red/gold german was mated three weeks ago too, and nothing that I can feel yet, but she looks very round. If she gives me three like candy I'll be incubating till winter LOL. With The rate their going I think I'll incubate at ohh 72 degrees and have early 2005 babies LOL j/k

beardiedragon May 06, 2004 07:45 AM

LMAO, so if I incubate at say... 95 then mine should hatch out in about 2 weeks. If you put them in a microwave can you get instant BD?

DONT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS...

Mystical-dragons May 06, 2004 08:21 AM

hehe please don't try that at home!!! LMAO HMMM don't we wish it worked like that.. None of this waiting or winter shipping just speed up incubation or turn it way down to room temp where it takes 4-5 months for them to hatch out and get past the winter shipping LOL
