corn snakes. isnt it difficult to handle a constantly moving snake?

sharingan May 04, 2004 02:33 PM

I have been told by the ppl in this forum corn snakes are more active and constantly move through your hands than ball pythons. How do you keep with a snake that constantly moves around? You cant realy handle it for long can you? Isnt it difficult to hold such an active animal for more than a couple minutes? Ball pythons are more for playing that corns rite?

What do you mean by playing if you want to play get a dog. Yes I am a smart ass.

My snakes are very easy to handle Corns,Gophers, and Milks. I have had Balls in the past. Milks and the most active always on the move fun to have. Corns and Gophers are about the same not as active as a Milk but don't just sit there like a Ball. But I do know people that have active Balls. Most snakes become less active with handling. Part of the fun is to let them crawl around on you.

It's all in what you're used to. I can take a certain cornsnake on a given day and he'll just want to kickback and lay still for a while, while on another day that same corn will be in constant motion. To me Corns are very calm, but then again I have various kings, Milks, and ratsnakes. If your used to nothing but Ball pythons or certain other boids, I guess the constant motion of an active corn or other colubrid might make you a bit uncomfortable. Try holding a few young Pueblan Milksnakes, and then go back to holding a corn. You'll think you have a little Ball python in your hand LOL
