Strange behavior.. need help..

kcaiman May 04, 2004 03:00 PM

our three azureus have been great and settled in the same day they were purchased in august as well as a few months ago. But recently one of the more dominate ones has grown a liking to climbing the glass. i don't know if its because the temp has gone up to low 80s recently(warm weather) or what. he still eats great but even today i saw him on the glass then came down 5 minutes later to see him on the ledge by the light. Lately i've seen it more on the glass then not(during the day).
Isn't this just the newly acclimated frog behavior?

sorry for the long post
thanks for any help

Yes they like to climb, and even more so in a new tank. Mine have been in the same tank for over a year and still do it from time to time.

My two baby tincs at work climb the glass on their tank all the time. It provides hours of entertainment for me and my co-workers and I sometimes wondered if they were unhapppy too. But they eat like they were starved the day before and are active and out all day and getting fat so I can't complain. I think it's just one more thing for them to play on and dirty up (typical kids!!). My adult tincs at home climb the glass occassionally but not nearly as much as the ones here at work. But then again, they have a 20 gallon long between the three of them with broms that they use as a swimming pool and the leaves as a diving board.

I have some that love to climb too. I have them in a 29 gallon tank, and I have added several large things for them to crawl on. I found a 12" tall wishing well made of sticks for $6 at a hobby store and put it in their and they are all over that, and rarly on the glass now. Soemtimes I will find both of them in he same corner at the top of the glass though. They are just weird.

I have an adult pair in a 20 gallon that I never see on the glass.
