cage question plants

i have a kitty litter box, never had kitty litter in it, that i planted all my plants in and it takes up half of the cage. on the other side i put the ficus plant in the pot. is that ok? ill get a picture later today.

hmmmm...what plants and how many are in your litter box? In general litter boxes are not very deep (6" max?) and most root systems need more than that - but not all. The other concern about having a variety of plants in a single container is that their watering/moisture needs will vary. So if you have a small schefflera that does not like wet feet and a croton that will quickly wilt if too dry - well, you get the picture.

As for taking up all the floor space with plants not a bad idea unless your dripper is constantly dripping into your ficus or your box which will get saturated and then you have some dead plants (maybe) and a fungus gnat problem.

If you have thought this all thru and made adjustments for it all it sounds great!
