Locale Cal.King Pic...

jeph May 04, 2004 06:01 PM

Hi,
This is my Verbenia Locale Cal.King female. I collected her over a year ago-(legallY and a male too. They were found a few days apart but about 500 feet apart on the same road. The male is an adult-(probally ready for breeeding) but this girl was beat up a bit when I first found her. She had numerous patches of scabs-(looked like claw marks almost) and a few broken bones. Some about 4 inches past her head, then the rest at about mid-body. But she healed nicely and is growing fast and seems very healthy. I cant wait to breed her next year x the male-(the male has nice cream-white bands and dark bands-more of a desert looking cal.king) but this is an area of intergradation of coastal and desert) but the babys should be cool to see. Just wanted to share the pic.

PS-doesnt it look like your walking in the desert and you see her crawling through some rocks..?,lol

Hi,
I've posted this pic before. But thought I would put it up to show the difference from him to the female. I cant wait to breed these guys. I've been trying to breed him x my reche canyon female-(I havnt been able to find a male from there yet this year, so I figured I'd use this guy and atleast they are still riverside county cals, just not specific. But it doesnt look like they are going to breed anyways).

Jeff.......that snake is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! That is a cal king buddy!!!! I love those phases! Funny how the normal colored cream/yellow with chocolate bands is not the " in " thing. I really like these and wish I saw more of them being bred.

Here is my female that I have had since 1991. Her yellow bands are not as wide as your female's, but the chocolate bands are comparable.

Take care! Thanks for the great pics!

Heres a pic of female Reche Canyon Cal.King, it kind of reminds me of yours. It has the skinny yellow bands but a nice chocolate brown color. I'm still trying to find a male for her from there. She is ready to breed now, she just had her 2nd shed and i think shes ovulating too. I put my verbenia male with her-(she is much bigger than him, and he may be intimadated by her size). Well enjoy the pic and thanks for posting your pic.
