Look at my reply below or search the forum. Young pyxies of both species have stripes, so that is only for adults. I have posted the difference probably a hundred times, so try a search.

I already did a search and read the below reply.I wanted to know if this frog at the petstore is edulis or adpsersus. It has a cream/yellowish stripe running down its back and I am not sure about its eardrum.I am guessin it is between 4-5 inches so if it is edulis its probably full grown.I am just confused on adult characteristics between the two and baby characteristics. So if you could give a semi-detailed explanation I would be very thankful.
A couple of quick guidelines is that the dwarf pyxies have a yellow to tan line running down their back throughout their WHOLE life span as well as a white-ish spot on the typanum (ear drum). Males reach only about 5 to 6 inches in length with females being a few inches shorter than that. They are more blotched in coloration. Adspersus are going to be mostly uniform olive (though different shades are not uncommon) green with orange arm pits. Some retain a bit of yellow just around the eyes.
That is what I posted before. You can't expect much more than that. Adspersus change coloration at different sizes, but at 5 inches it is most likely edulis. Edulis have longer snouts as well.
