Update on the SUPER MOTLEY BOA!!!!!!!!!

Jeremy Stone May 04, 2004 06:22 PM

Hello everyone, I'm proud to Announce that there is a VISUAL Super Motley. The Motley isn't just a Motley, it has a GREATER Brother. IT IS the PURPLE PATTERNLESS BOA!!!! YES, I will come up with a BETTER name soon. I proved this by breeding a Motley Boa to a Motley Salmon this year. She gave birth to a premature litter of Babies and Slugs. She wasn't due untill the 19th of this month. HOwever, I was Lucky enough to see in the babies WHAT the Super Motley is. In the litter were 3 PURPLE PATTERNLESS and one Purple Patternless SALMON boa. They are INSANE looking. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. (A Dominant Looking Motley Boa). So, to all those who did get a FEMALE Motley, HOLD ON FOR THE RIDE of your life, because I don't believe I have seen a better looking Boa then a BABY SUPER MOTLEY. (Purple Patternless). I will post pictures of them as soon as I download a new FTP for my new computer. I'll upload the pics, and show them to everyone who wants to see them. For now, I'll just show you exactly what I saw 2 years ago, and almost FAINTED. This is EXACTLY What I saw today, except 4 of them!!!! I'll post pics Soon. Take Care, everyone. This Boa year should be the BEST YET!!!!!!!!!!! Jeremy Stone

There is NO other way to describe them other then they are PURE Purple with JET BLACK eyes, and you can't see the Pupil in the eye.

Jeremy,

Its a bummer that the boas are premature but a blessing to have unlocked the mystery behind a visual super motley. Sorry for the bad litter, but happy that a little pressure has been taken off. Good luck with future breedings. 10 more days!!!!

To me, that patternless is THE ULTIMATE BOA! I will never forget the first time you let me hold him. What an exquisite little treasure!!!

When I bought two of his littermates, it was my fervent hope that someday a patternless would pop up again...somewhere. I have been trying to decide what to put with Missy next season, but now that question has been answered. Her dance card is filled To be able to lay eyes on baby patternless boas would be one of the crowning moments in my life. This will give me something wonderful to fantasize about, and wish for, over the long hot summer. I definitely want to see pics of the premies when you're up and running. WOOOOO!!!! HOOOOO!!!
SUPER MOTLEYS WILL RULE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still in shock over this...and a little giddy and light-headed. Why....I think I'll need some post-trauma.

Super Motley = Purple Patternless...........Holy Moley!!!!!

Hello Jeremy,

First off... congrats on the Purple Patternless Boa... it has long been a favorite of mine and I have always wanted one for our collection.

Having said that I have a question... What produced the original Purple Patternless?? I thought that this Motley x Motley breeding was the first of its kind. I guess I am under the impression that the first Purple Patternless was from a Motley x Normal clutch.

Thank you,

Hello Sean,

Two years ago I bred a Motley male to a normal. THere was a very large litter. 49 babies. Only 15 were Motleys, but there were 2 Purple Patternless. One of them was the runt with many kinks, and it passed on. The other is doing well here, and I hope to breed him this up coming year. The WIERD thing about this is that the Parents have Bred together and made 3 litters. 2 of the 3 litters had Motleys, but ONLY that one litter 2 years ago had the litter with the Purple Patternless. I thought it was a FLUKE, and hoped it would be genetic. I had a hunch it may be Motley because of the Belly and the head. They looked like Motleys in that way. However, I didn't know for sure. When I produced this other litter it was a Salmon Motley to a Motley. The litter wasn't supposed to be here untill the 21st of May. When the Salmon Motley was ROAMING the other night I was just hoping she would drop enough babies to LEt me see the Super Motley. She did EXACTLY that. I'm sure many will still doubt this and want to see a bigger litter of Motley to Motley, and I do understand that concern. However, after producing Many litters of Motleys and just my knowlege of genetics and breeding, I am confident to say that this IS the Super MOtley. Could I be wrong? Yes. I will know a LOT more in future breedings, and like Rich said, I will know more when I get to breed that Purple Patternless. I hope next year I will get a Lot more answers, and I CAN'T WAIT. No other Super Motleys will be produced this year. This was my ONLY shot. I'm not at ALL saddened by the fact that it was a premature litter of dead babies. As a breeder you have to accept that comes with the territory. IF I let that Get me down, I would AWFUL at keeping my composure during a season of babies. I just realize it is part of the territory. When this happens, it STINKS, but you just have to say, WHAT IS NEXT??? I can say that all isn't Completley answered, and there is a lot of learning to do with this Gene. However, I can say that EVERYONE who has Motleys will not be disapointed they own them. At Least This bloodline of Motley. Hope this helps. Take Care, and Best of luck to you and your breeding season. This year is SOO awewsome already. Jeremy Stone

The fact that the Super Motley is the Purple Patternless opens up the possibility that more of these supers will be produced like in the ball pythons. Perhaps the lucy boa is not that far off.
At any rate, Jeremy you had the original vision to invest in this project and your time, money and hard work are going to reward you well.
