Help with Eggs...

koenigspythons May 04, 2004 06:36 PM

I know I've asked this before, but I'm still concerned about one of my eggs. I know it's normal to have dents/dimples on the eggs, but one of my eggs has a large indention and has slowly been developing another dent and it doesn't look good. The temperature is set at 89 degrees and the humidity is around 90%. All the other eggs look good. There is still around 45+/- days left until hatch date. Is there something I should change or do? Or is there a chance that egg may still be fine and be a successful hatch?

I've attached pictures of it.

Any help and suggestions or advice anyone has? I don't think this egg is going to make it.
Thank you

...if there's still 45 days left to incubate.

That's what I was thinking but the humidity is 90%, how much higher should it be? I just misted them with some water.

Do you think I should mist them every day? If so, will that help them? Do you think they still stand a chance of surviving?

I'll keep spraying them with water daily, if you think that will help.

Thanks for the advice.

Try taking a damp papertowel and cover the eggs with it. It helps alot.

100% humidity, and they should pop back out.

Are you sure they are fertile? Candle them, and look for veins.

Yes they are all fertile. I candled each one and saw plenty of veins. I'll crank the humidity up and keep my fingers crossed that will help.

Thanks for everyones help and advice. I appreciate it.

don't mist the eggs directly...

What you can do is either put a moist papertowl over them, or take some moss, make it wet, then squeeze out the excess water, and put it on the dimpled egg.

I had to do that with one of my eggs and it fixed it immediately, and no harm done...

When you say immediately, how soon is that? I've had a damp paper towel over the eggs for 2 days now and the one dented/collapsed egg still looks the same. Just curious as to how long it should take to "fix" the egg. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!!
