Got back from Sanderson, Big Bend, Study Butte, etc. yesterday. Gasoline in Sanderson is now $1.98/gal, Marathon is over $2.04/ gal. It's goning to be a lean year as far as snakin! The gas prices are way out of control! I went to the Chisos Basin with my cousin and his wife who came in from South carolina. They are still out there. I was able to see one Northen Blacktail sunning on the road as well as a couple of coachwhips. This was not a snake hunting trip. The temps are still too cool at night. The hiking was great.

Hey that's awesome...if you won't be spending time on the River Road, that means that all those alterna you catch there every year will be left for me...oh wait...

Our prices in Emporia is matching Alpine at $1.95 - $1.98 and temps have been in the 90ties. Gee. Just like southwest Texas.
