The punch - drunken giant (more...)

H+E Stoeckl May 04, 2004 08:02 PM

The helplessness of the U.S. in Iraq is getting more obvious and pathetic every passing day.

One of the pitiful justifications for the war was to remove a cruel dicatator and his system (who has tortured and gased his own citizens) from power.

And now the Saddams generals are getting back their jobs thanks to the U.S. who see no other opportunity to achieve stability.

Maybe they should release also Saddam and bring him back to power? I wouldn't be surprised. Nothing seems impossible.

The next thing is that I heard in the TV news that the U.S. soldiers who tortured their captives will get a stern reprimand and maybe (not for sure) they will ousted of the army. According to the tv news, no further consequences are intended.

Man, I am glad that I am not subject to your law system. Shoplifters are thrown into prison for several years when they do it the third time and sadistic soldiers get a stern reprimand.

In my day, the very least they would get would be what was called an "Undesirable discharge" though in this case a Dishonorable is definitly merited. I think the "Ring leaders should do time. But that's like I said...the way we used to handle it.
