A baby question

windyj420 May 04, 2004 08:36 PM

Okay I got a new female snow on Sunday. She is very young, not sure how young but tiny. I have a two and a half year old male that I have had forever. I have also had many babies, but it has been a while. My question is, she is not very active. She sits with her eyes closed alot, and I have to kinda nudge her to get her to move. She ate a couple of crickets Sunday and maybe 1 yesterday. Today she didnt even blink at them. I soaked her to try and get her to poop...nothing. Is this normal? I have dealt with some weird things, but like I said it has been a while. Just need a little help please!!Thanks!!

Boy that doesn't sound good. Not to try to worry you, I'm sure you're already worried enough. What are the temps, and are they ambient or surface? You may want to try powdering some pellet and mixing it with some pedialite to make a soup and then feed it with a syrenge. Good luck.

I would try to force feed her with a syrenge and mix up some veggies and vitamins and feed her that way and as soon as she poops take it in and get a fecal done.

check to make sure her basking spot is 98-108 degrees fareinheit

FYI, it is best to post your husbandry practice with a question like that so you can get some answers. Temperatures, size of tank, diet, lighting...
