My New Egyptian!

peanutbuttermdc May 13, 2003 03:42 PM

I'm so excited! My new egyptian came in the mail today. She is about 15 inches long and in awesome health. She is amazingly friendly, too! As soon as she came out of her box she ate a ton of lettuce. She has been an eating machine all day long! I'm going to go through lettuce a lot more quickly now, since my 3 malis, and 1 saharan don't eat near the amount I think she will. I will post pics of her soon. Her name is Isabelle. Just thought I'd share!

Congrats! They are so addictive...it is so exciting getting a new addition!

Congratulations! The lettuce isn't nutritious at all though. I'd recommend other foods. Glad to see she's eating though. Good luck and God bless.

I figure there is plenty of nutritional value in the types of greens/lettuce I feed my uros. I gave Isabelle most of the three types of lettuce I currently have: bok choy, collard greens, and green leafy. She seemed to favor the green leafy. She also like the couple of dandelions and peas I gave her.

Sounds fine, it's just that you can't feed her only lettuce. Apparently you already knew that. Seems like you are feeding her very well, and you meant to mention greens.

She is really beautiful. I think the egyptians just look so proud and regal. Hope you really enjoy her.

just want to make one suggestion. PLEASE do not feed all your uro's lettuce! It will do NOTHING for them!! stick more with other greens that are more healthy! Hate to see them all die on you in a short time from not having good nutrition!

Congrats on the new addition tho!!

She mentioned in a later post that she is feeding her a variety of greens, not just lettuce... I'm pretty sure she just meant lettuce as in different greens.

P.S. I'm her bofriend
