Heat tape and rack question.

zhenchok May 04, 2004 09:29 PM

Hi, I built a 6 sterlite 12 quart container hatchling rack. The containers go in pairs,, side by side, with three rows. I'm waiting for more heat tape but I currently have 3 peices of the 11 inch flexwatt heat tape. Instead of having the tape running in the back, can I have the heat tape be in the middle between the two containers? Each container would have heat tape going along it's half. Would this setup work?

I have the same kind of rack as well with 2 Rubbermaid containers side by side. I run a strip of 11" heat tape vertically down the back in the center. I've also started adding some foil insulation down the back as well before ataching the backing.

It works great for me.
