i measured my 10month old yt i got from dean and was amazed that she is 47".i've changed her over from mice to rats a month ago and notice she really attacks the f/t rats where she didn't the mice. ??? still very mellow temperment(even when my cat or dog is around her!) i was wondering how big she will get in her second year. steve

I have a Rick Prinz male, born I believe in 9/02 which is about the same. Mine eats regularly is also pretty mellow to handle after a minute or two. I expected faster growth rates, must be the lineage. I may also be the breeder, I have a Tiger Rat I got off Dean last year, also an 02, it is over 8'. You can almost watch him grow. He easily pounds 3 jumbo mice/week, where the y/t barely fits 3 mediums.

75 ambient, 90 basking. I keep it in a 48" neo slant front with cypress mulch over newspaper (makes change out easy). It loves burrowing. Mine eats once/week usually and never more. After a real good look tonight under 45" for sure. Like most people in this forum, I really like BIG colubrids. I am still holding out hope for my Y/t. My Y/t has a brilliant yellow tail, but it's face shows no yellow whatsoever.
