i put my eastern box turtle outside in its enclosure for an hour and i came back to check on it and couldnt find him.any ideas?

he's trying to escape what should i do?

Many turtles attempt escape. You should escape proof your enclosure.

rig a one to two inch overhanging "lip" at the top of your enclosure. it seems to help...
