Is it possible to overfeed a gravid snake? She is such an aggressive eater, she is eating everything in sight. I'm worried about health risks.

Check out an inexpensive little book Barron's Reptile Keeper's Guides Garter and Ribbon Snakes Facts and Advice on Care and Breeding by Dick Bartlett ISBN # 0764116983. In this he states that Garters should be fed heavily durring gestation and may refuse food for a week or two preceding parturition (pg. 40) In my personal experience, some of my snakes refuse food shortly after they mate (around a month or so). Many other books on egg laying colubrids say that you should feed a gravid female colubrid as much as she will eat (within reason of course). My suggestion to you is to feed the snake as much as it will take but do not go outside your normal feeding regime.
