I'm hoping so. I mean she eats and everything fine. At first I worried because she wouldn't chase crickets only eat mealies but now she is on the prowl for crix. And like I saids he comes out to play at night.. I catch her!

The dark area is your gecko's liver, and sometimes you will see a small black spot which is the gall bladder. Internal organs tend to show through the skin of babies much more than adults.

Yea, if he's eating you have nothing to worry about.. But if he ever stops eating and those organs appear as they do in the pic here, you'll have to start worrying about crypto..

That is one sick looking loe. What's wrong with it? I can tell starvation and dehydration are what has caused it's appearance, but what caused the starvation and dehydration?

GoldenGateGeckos May 06, 2004 11:05 AM

Poor little thing! Even still, the dark area you see in the abdomen of this juvie is it's liver. When they are very sick and have been off food for long time, their body's fat reserves become mobilized and the liver gets clogged trying to process it and swells up. This causes hepatic lipidosis, or fatty liver disease, which proves fatal in cases like this.

Babies are pretty transparent, You can see their insides much more so then you can with adlt.
it is most likely organs, food, and feces. If you look after she uses the bathroom it will likly be smaller.
I wouldn't be worried if she is eating like a pig and gaining weight.
