So I love taking Jak out, and she loves coming out to play, begs for it in fact. The other night I had the top of the cage off, which she assumes means it's time to come out, so she's on top of her rock looking up waiting for my hand to appear like she always does, when all of a sudden she jumps for the top of the tank. Well needless to say, she missed, and hit the glass about 4 inches below the top. Now it was a good attempt, and don't worry, she didn't hurt herself. How do I know this you ask? Cause right after that she started doing the leo dance in the corner, and ended up standing on one leg for quite some time, with the other three legs on the glass.
But I digress (sp?) Whenever I put her away, my arm always hurts from her little nails. I know it would be impossible to cut her nails, but would it be possible to "file" them down? Now I don't mean using an actual file, but instead letting her run around on some fine grit sand paper or something for a few minutes a day. This thought comes from knowing that they live on rocks in nature, so I have to assume their nails stay shorter in the wild. I will eventually be switching to tile, which could also help to file the nails down. But until then, she's on papertowels. Do Leo nails ever stop growing? or might they actually need this filing to keep them in good shape? It's something that I've never seen mentioned in a care sheet or anything of the sort. Just my thoughts, let me know what you all think.
