Bee Pollen Question? ? ?

dragonfliz79 May 06, 2004 08:00 AM

I always leave a dry mix of red lentil, bird seed and bee pollen. Along with fresh veggies. But I've been noticing
that my uro is eating all the bee pollen first then if he is
still hungry he goes for the fresh stuff. Should I not give
him bee pollen everyday? Or it's no big deal? Just wondering if it is health to eat everyday. Thanks,

I am not sur of the answer to your question but I wanted to know where you purchase your bee pollen because I cannot find it.

You can find bee pollen at whole foods markets and health food stores. The t-rex Uro dust contains bee pollen and just use that instead now.
good luck

I find bee pollen granules in most health or vitamin stores. I think I've even seen it in GNC. In fact I need to get another container of it. As for the uro picking it out, there's really no harm in them eating it. It is, however, like a treat, so if you ever want to have that "leverage", you may lose it by offereing it all the time. As long as they're also getting their greens, I'd say go ahead and leave it mixted in with the dry if you want.

Along with the granules, I also buy bee pollen in pill form. I put the pills in my food processor and grind them into powder so I can sprinkle a little on the damp greens. It can also help to entice a finicky eater and unlike the granules, they can't pick it out. I use the granules in my dry mix. You could also make your dry mix without the granules and then once or twice a week add some to your mix in your small bowls. Good luck.
