Emptying out the tank

AdamH Jun 16, 2003 11:46 AM

Every month or so, i know your supposed to empty out the water in the tank, and give it a fresh start. I had been using a wet/dry vac i got at home depot, but everytime i use it, it backs up and i get turtle water all over the floor. I was wondering what other methods people use to empty out their tank. Oh, i have a 55 gal. Thanks

Adam

I use a $6 gravel cleaning siphon tube from the pets section at walmart for my 55 gallon. Another idea is a submersible pump, but the siphon sucks the crap out without the gravel so I like it better.

I have heard really great things about the python. you can buy it at bigalsonline.com I'll be buying one soon. it hooks to your sink to drain and then you can refill from the nozzle. pretty cool, and it comes with a fifty foot tube.
