Help on setting up an out door cage? Any info is appreciated thanks!

Well Finals are almost done here and then im home for the summer. I want to set up an outdoor sunning cage for my veiled chameleons if I can, but need some help on it. Are there any specific (and cheap!) designs that anyone has I might look at? My main concern though is temperatures. Are there days when its not safe to have thm out there? I plan on putting plants and such in there for shade and all, but wanted to know what min-max temperatures I can put them out for?

Thanks for any info and wish me luck on my Bio exam tomorrow *erk*

Erin

p.s good luck to anyone else with their finals if they have them!

Jacksonsrule informed me about martinscages.com which is a reaqlly good and cheap place to get chameleon cages. The thing I would recommend is to use 1/2" x 1/2" PVC coated mesh. The window screening might be too easy for a racoon to tear off and eat your cham. With the PVC mesh, the spacing would be too small for predators to get in, making it much harder for them to get their hungry little hands on your little buddy, and it's really tough.

Good luck on your finals!

John at Chameleon Paradise has some great instructions for building your own outdoor cage. I built mine using his guidelines and modifying it to make it larger with an inside divider for my Jacksons and my Panthers.

i wouldnt subject a drastic temp change they can tolerate temps lower than 60 f. but not all at once i would ease them into it bring em in at night untill they become acclimated even though they can tolerate low temps I WOULD NOT subject them to temps lower than 65.f EVER!!!
