Hi everyone,

My husband and I got our first crested gecko a month ago. He is a very cool creature! Anyway, I did a lot of reading on their care before getting him, so we got him all the proper equipment, i.e. 15-gallon screen cage, live plants, moss substrate and we mist the cage 2-3 times a day, one time before lights out.

Only thing I'm wondering is how much they normally eat, as our little guy doesn't seem to eat much. We give him a variety of baby foods (mashed fruit) and we tried him on crickets and new mealworm beetles (before they turn red or black and become too hard to eat). He won't eat the insects and he only seems to nibble at the fruit. I end up finding maybe one or two small dimples in the fruit in the morning as evidence that he ate.

We were told that he is three years old. Do they normally not eat much, or are we doing something wrong? His temps are typically in the 70-80F range, which I have read is good for these guys.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
