One of my girls has just started I think and I have never seen the laying before. On the other hand it has gone 1AM here and I really want to go to bed.....

I suggest you go to bed and just wait until morning....My leo normally lays her eggs while we are sleeping, so when I wake up in the mornings the first thing I do is check for eggs. The eggs should be fine until morning. Let us know what happens.
