****** weird poop question *******

pogo_the_dragon May 06, 2004 07:56 PM

Just a quick question about pogo's poop...We hadn't gone in 2 days going on his 3rd actually and so when cleaning out his enclosure I decided to give him a good soak in the sink. He almost always will go if let alone long enough so after 20 minutes, nothing! I decided to give it just a few more minutes and sure enough he went...What was particularly weird about this poop was that the white urate part that is usually on the runny, slimy side came out in what look to be a elongated capsule form. Kinda like a 3" long tylenol capsule but just a little thicker. It was perfectly shaped in that form and hard. Not slimy and a little runny like usual. Is there anything to worry about with that or is it normal? Just was wondering if that is what was maybe binding him up for the few days....Let me know if you have had experienced this..Thanks guys/gals!!!! -Keith

Normally fresh greens, and veggies offsetted with rep-cal calcium, and T-rex VMF. Zoomed Can 0 crix (Surprised he eats them but he actually will eat those more than live) and occasionally superworms and waxworms...Normally I make up recipe with all this stuff ground up with baby apple juice and feed him by dropper which he willingly takes just for him to associate me with being something enjoyable...Anyway in all honesty I wouldn't suspect hydration as a problem...Any other suggestions???

dont remember who was having the same problem. stopping the trex solved the problem. I think it was over supplimenting. I would stop giving calcium. If you use t-rex daily it is not needed.

That's normal, the urates should not really be runny. You might want to cut out the rep-cal calcium if you are using the Vmf every feeding as directed, there is plenty of calcium in the dust.
good luck
