Calcium Supplementation

bullfrog1245 May 06, 2004 09:52 PM

Quick calcium question. I've always kept a lid of calcium dust for my geckos to "eat" free range. Never saw them eat it before...but the last night I replaced the calcium in my 7 month old females cage (housed alone) and she scarfed it down like a drug. I took the calcium out after a bit, afraid she was going to ingest too much. I dont believe shes forming eggs...a bit too young for that, isnt she? Can they overdose on calcium?
Thanks!
Dan

Just leave the cap of calcium in the tank 24/7 and she will only use what she needs. Dont worry.

you were right, it just seemed to be a strange phase. I replaced the calcium and she licked a bit then walked away
