I have a 15Qt sterilite sitting on a UTH heater that reads 90 degrees. The thermometer probe itself is attached to the UTH under the sterilite, is the is a good way to measure? or should the probe be inside the Sterilite itself? Thanks, Dave.

I would try to put it in the container, so you know exactly what temp your snake is laying on. If the UTH is reading 90, chances are it may be a few degrees colder in the sterilite. I know when I keep my heat tape at 95 degrees, the hotspot inside the tub measures 91-92 degrees. It also depends on the tub also, and how it transfers heat. But don't forget it may take almost an hour for the temps to transfer through the container anyways. Good luck!
