I need advise

Majesty_Cassy May 07, 2004 09:02 AM

I just rescued a Baby Green Iguana (Houdini). What I would like to know is how long should I give this little baby to adjust to the enclosure before I start handling it daily? I have heard 6 months but that seems ludicrous. Any advice will be appreciated. I have an 11 year old but did not raise him. He was a rescue too. So this Baby stuff is new to me. Thanks in advance.

Give the baby around 2 weeks. Some need more some need less. I wait until the ig is eating well and shows no outwards signs of stress like hiding and turning dark colors. He will prolly tail whip and will prolly try to bite but you should know about how to handle that since this isnt your first ig
Good Luck,
Heth

We held our new ig right from the start. Tiny was really good but then got hard to get out. Keep taking it out even if it is hard so that it will know that you are the boss. For us this works and she/he is great when out of it's enclosure. Good luck and your ig is SO cute.
