10 gallon dart tank questions?

jaysnakes May 07, 2004 09:57 AM

Hello all. I was just wondering what plants would you recomend to put in a 10 gallon dart tank. I'm getting ready to construct my first small dart viv and looking for the right types of plants. I was also wondering what sort of substrate mixtures do you guys use for your vivs.

Thanks to all the respond.

my first tank was a 10 gal and i just now got the frogs a larger tank after 1.5 years in the 10 gal. i had a neo. fireball bromeliad with the green selleganella moss for floor covering rather than the usual clump moss. the crypthanus sp. bromeliads are rather small and can be used to fill in empty spaces in your tank bottom and on the back wall. any philo. pothos or low ferns can be used for the back wall of your tank. for ideas onm how to decorate your tank llok in the photo section of this site. i redid my 10 gal tank 5 times because i got bored and 10 gal isn't really enough space to let your imagination ro wild. talk to alex at www.customecos.com and he'll let you know what he has that will work. t&c and black jungle also have good plants lists. there aren't that many plants out there that mayget too big for a 10 gal tank.

If you just want something that is cheep and easy and take almost no maitnece use pothos. It grows like mad and looks good. All it needs is a little triming now and then.
