New Iguana Mommy

asia2003 May 07, 2004 11:28 AM

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Leyla, and I usually post on the tegu forum, but as of yesterday (mother's day gift came early) I am now the proud mom of a hatchling green iguana, named Morpheus. He is about 3 inches snv, and 8 inches or so total length. So far so good, he is eating and drinking well, although quite flighty when handled. I am taking him out and handling him for anywhere from 15 - 30 mins at a time, so I think given a bit of time, he will tame down.

I will post pics as soon as I can.

does s/he have proper temps? proper heating and uvb? i suggest a vet check to check for any internal nasties he may have that could transfer to any other reptiles you have Good luck with your new baby. They get big so fast

Hi,

Yep all of the heat, and uvb levels are great, and he has settled into his enclosure very well, and seems truly comfortable.
I spent a little while longer today handling him than I did yesterday, and he seems much more calm, the next step is to definitly get him to a reptile vet for a check-up.

Pics will be coming soon
