Hi there,
Just wondering if any of you guys use plant pots turned upside down for your hides? If you do, how do you cut the holes in them? Thanks in advance.

1st you shouldn't use the actual pots as a hide for any herp, only the bases. I tried using those as a hide for my leo, but she couldn't find the entrance hole (hammered off). She seems to only find things that are like 1.5-2" high. I use small paper bowls with holes cut in the sides, and a TGI fridays mozzarella stick box. She doesn't hide anymore since i switched her to a rubbermaid that isnt' perfectly see through. She prefers to just lie down on the heat mat.

I use them for all my herps.

You want to use the bases, not the pots. I find they work extremely well, especially for smaller animals (baby and juvie leos).

I use a small hammer to knock out the hole. Takes some practice but you'll get used to it. I rest the part where I want the hole to be on a thick carpet and then smack it, on the inside.

Attached is a pic of one of them. It's not the greatest pic, but its the only one I currently have uploaded. This pic was taken at night and that crestie had just come out from underneath it.

I recommend these hides 100%.
