Safe substrates besides paper towles?

Savana_man May 07, 2004 03:38 PM

I am using paper towels in Kings cage right now but I wanted something a little more natural looking. I know theres bark chips, but theres one kind thats supposed to be bad for animals and I don't want to get the wrong kind. Please help

Thanks in advance

ANYTHING like that is ingestible and can cause impaction. I would stick to either the paper towels, towels, peel and stick tiles from a hardware store, news paper, or repti-carpet. Impactions can and will kill your ig if they arent caught in time. Why chance it? PLUS that stuff is hard to clean and keep clean and with the other things you can either chunk it away when ur finished with it or chunk it outside for a spray down or into the washing machine with bleach and hot water.

Hi,
I saw this contact paper in the classifieds that is made for anacondas, so I think it would be good for an ig. I have been wanting to try it out, but have not gotten around to it. jrbl

You can get fake astro turf, it's easy to clean. You just have to take it out and rinse it off. Or you could just potty train your iguana like i did mine.....
