boas and pythons together?

i know you are not supposed to house boas & pythons together...or so i have been told...can anyone please tell me specifically why that is?...any help would be appreciated...thanks

you shouldn't house any snakes together unless it's breeding time...they can share illnesses, and snakes are not pack animals...they don't want company. it can stess them out.

what you are asking about is mixing old world species with new world species. first off...even if there husbandry requirments are VERY close, which one are you going to dial it in on?

second, one species may be more inclined to tolerate certain/or carry certain parasites that the other species would not be able to adapt to because that species has never been exposed to that particular problem.

just don't do it...your asking for trouble.

thanks for the reply...but i never said i was GOING to house boas and pythons together...my question was pure curiosity...i have owned many different snakes...especially boas and pythons...and have never put them together...i house all of my snakes seperately...i knew that you werent supposed to put boas and pythons together...i was just looking for a more detailed reason as to why this was the case...i would still like to hear more input on this topic...thanks again
