How Is Everyone?

LeosAnonymous Jun 16, 2003 02:12 PM

I've been super busy the last month (it's been crazy around here working with all our ball pythons, leos, and fat tails), so unfortunately I havn't been on the forums much lately.

How is everyone's season going?

I'm happy to hear that everyone seems to be doing well this season... and lucky you Starling!

Josh,

This is my first year working with balls, just got my first clutch late last night actually, very cool.

Right now I have a collection that consists of:

1.0 Lemon Pastel
1.0 Pastel Jungle
0.3 Pastel Jungle

1.0 Hi-Contrast Albino
0.2 100% Het
0.4 Poss Het

0.13 Normal Females (blackbacks and stripes mixed in)

Very fun animals to work with, as long as they are not on hunger strike!

This year I'll hatch out lemon pastel crosses (lemonxnormal), and next year I'll hatch out super pastel crosses (lemonxnormal pastel), pastel jungles, along with hi-contrast albinos and hets for hi-contrast albino.

Especially now that my performing season is over....I could not find the time to come to the forums because I was at rehearsals and performances up until May 5. But now that is over, I have the summer to relax (from school and the stage) until September when I go back to performing and school!!! I am anxiously anticipating my new hatchlings that will hatch out (*hopefully*) on the first or second week in July. This is my first time breeding leos and so far everything has gone well. I hope the babies will hatch out nice and healthy though!!!

Everything is going great for my first season of breeding. I have had a total of 11 eggs laid and only 2 were not fertile. I could tell right away as they never firmed up. So far I have 7 nice babies (one is already in it's new home) and I have 2 more eggs in the incubator.
I am only breeding normals at this time. It was more a school project for my son that I got into. So far I have one local pet/feed store that has agreed to buy from me and of course I will also be selling on my own. We have 3 babies we have picked out so far to keep but the other 3 are up for sale. I am also considering breeding feeders for the local feed stores. It is a pain sometimes to find good quality food items and herps. I don't want to be a major breeder but it is nice to be able to provide quality leo's to people in my area for a reasonable price and not have to pay shipping. It is unheard of to buy Leo's for less then about $65 here, they normaly run at leat $70 though.
Anyhow...thanks for asking and I hope all is well with you and your crew as well.

Season is not going so well, apparently my quick rotation one-mating breeding technique didn't give my females enough sperm to produce fertile eggs all season, and now my male isn't as much in the mood. Argh.

But having some nice animals and good suprises hatch out, nonetheless. Best surprise of season was that my superhypotang carrottail girl is het albino...wooo-hoo!!!
