My new frogs

whynter May 08, 2004 12:39 AM

Hello,

I recently bought two frogs from a pet store where I live, they were sold to me as African Clawed, but I have been doing research and it doesn't seem like that's what they really are, these guys don't seem too unhappy, but I can't help but feel that if I could find out more they would be much happier, if anyone could email me at whynter@hotmail.com, I could send some pictures so we could figure out what they are Thanks

I would like to see pics. If they are very small (under 2 inches long) but still roughly shaped like acfs, and living fully underwater, then they could be african dwarf frogs. A pic always helps, though.
If you want to email them to me, my email is Ginevive22@yahoo.com

what does he look like?

hmm, they are small, greeny brown with black splotches or dots, they never swim under, prefering to hang out half in and half out of the water

That does not sound like a clawed frog! I would bet that they are probably leopard frogs.
That is a serious mislabeling on the store's part. Confusing claweds with leos is like confusing a shark with a goldfish.
