Thanks for all you input on butterworms in the post below. I just have aquestion about mealworms.

I fed my little girls crickets tonight. There energy and appitite came back 100%.

My supplier of mealworms only has one size. They are not to big, but some are almost as long as my geckos heads (about 1/2" to 3/4". Is this to big? Same goes for the crickets. Every so often a big one gets eaten, but most are small. I guess I should just pick out the big ones and get rid of them. I just have a bug phobia that has developed after one too many cricket escapes, and also past bug bites. Otherwise I would breed them myself. Any suggestions as to deal with bugs without actually touching them or having an escape? Has anyone had experiences with breeding mealworms without any escapes? I know I'm pathetic, lol.

yeah that size is fine for mealies... i start my babies on 3/4 in crickets (when i feed them crickets) and on medium meal worms... you should do just fine... feed them every other day and give them as many as they will eat ...... try and gut load the crickets or mealies for 13 hours before feeding them... dont for get your calcium and your suplimentation.

i have some breeding mealies and they cant get out cuz they cant climb glass. but i swear i got the worst case of grain moths so i just threw out the whole damn mess.. all those damn pesky little moths were bugging me (no pun intended)... they are actually easy to breed but honestly for three geeks just buy LOL it makes it so much easier and hassle free

I have been feeding them everyday and sort of monitoring how much they eat. I've been trying to feed them all the same amount. But it would be so much easier to just feed them every second day and not worry so much about feeding them too much. Why do you only feed them every second day?
