Please Help!!! Ventral Problems

morgan5 May 08, 2004 07:42 AM

As some of you know, i just purchased a hatchling 2.5 weeks ago.

My roommate just found something wrong with him. He (BP) has multiple split ventral scales but in one area it looks like he cut himself. As seen in the picture, there looks to be a scab... Or I hope that’s what it is!? Could someone tell me what to do or is this normal???

Thank you for all your help.

I should also mention that he is extremely sensitive in that area.

It's the umbilical scar and will shed off with the next shed.

We dont usually sell animals until they have shed and eaten. Who did you buy them from?

That's his belly button (where the umbilical cord was attached). It doesn;t look infected or anything, so I tthink he's fine. Just let it finish healing up.
