I say, "good for you". I know how you must feel to know you helped her and probably saved her life. It's amazing what we can do when we have no other choice. So glad she will be alright.

I'm glad everything worked out ok for you in this matter and that she's doing well. People are actually getting on you about doing this yourself? Well, they really shouldn't be and should feel ashamed. What were you supposed to do? Sit around and watch her suffer and eventually croak? Not all of us live a few minutes drive away from a knowledgeable and able herp vet. In fact, I live a few minutes drive from about 5 different vets, but not ONE of them knows a damn thing about exotic pets, in fact I've had 2 of them call asking for permission to refer a fellow herp owner to ME. Does this mean that we shouldn't own and care for the animals we love? Hell no, just means we need to be prepared to take care of such emergencies ourselves is all. At least you posted here for advice on how to take care of this situation. I think a lot of ppl in the same situation would have just let their snake die. Good on you. You had the stones to write here asking for help, and what better place?

THANX ALOT MAN ....THAT MEANS ALOT TO ME.. YEA I HAD SEVRAL PPL EMAIL ME AND TELL ME WHAT A CARELESS MISTAKE I MADE BY DOING THIS MYSELF.. THAT I MUST NOT CARE TO MUCH ABOUT HER OR I WOULD OF TOO HER TO A VET.. JUST LIKE YOU SAID I DID IN FACT CALL EVERY VET WITHIN A 120 MILES AND NONE OF THEM WOULD HELP ME...SO I HAD TO DO WUT I THOUGHT WAS THE BEST AND THAT WAS SAVE HER LIFE... I WISH THE PPL THAT EMAILED ME AND CAME DOWN ON ME WOULD OF POSTED THEIR COMMENTS INSTEAD OF JUST EMAILING THEM... SCARED I GUESS.. THANX ALOT MAN... PE@CE MIKE..

Well, I think that you showed initiative and did the right thing considering the circumstances.

How can we come down on you? It worked! Now, if it hadn't worked, that's when you'd be getting the "only a qualified herp vet" speech. lol Kudos to you.
