Good source for fruit flies?

lele May 13, 2003 04:54 PM

Hi - can anyone recommend a good source for fruit flies (online), culture kits, etc. The ones at the pet store are NOT flightless as claimed - UGH! I have found several sites but am wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences? Some I have found are:

http://www.timberlinefisheries.com/fruit_fly.html
http://www.edsflymeatinc.com/fruit_flies.htm
http://www.grubco.com/Care_Instructions.cfm

also, anyone do their own homemade culture?

Thanks for the help!

Lele-

I have not used any of the sites listed below, but I remember a while back that BigT uses Timberline. I use www.herpfood.com because they are in the same state I am in, and transit time is short, when I need food other then silkworms. Also you may check www.lllreptile.com they sell kits to, I dont know what kind of fly either sell, you would have to look into that! Hope this helps!
