The Classic Boa?!?

clownloach May 08, 2004 05:26 PM

Hi all, What would you consider to be the "Classic" Boa? Only because I have seen alot of beautiful looking babies, but when they become adults alot of their colors become washed out and they don't look as appealing as they did when they were babies. I guess what I am trying to say is that I want to breed my male colombian and want not just beautiful babies, (all boas are beautiful) but to still have spectacular color as an adult. God, I am so addicted to this.

Another thought that has crossed my mind is that I have seen alot of high priced morphis's snakes, do you pay for the high price for they way they look as babies or for the way they look when they are adults?

I must admit that the snake that got me interested in Boas was a Peruvian Boa that my friend had when I was ten. The animal was about 4 feet long with silver color and the brightest red tail I had ever seen. I was amazed that Nature would have put such a brightly colored tailed on an animal, after all what purpose could it ever serve. Even a 100 yards out you could see that thing. I would also have to guess that seeing the term “Red Tail” Boa is still used today, that a BCC Boa would have to be considered the classic boa.
Thanks
