superworms, mealworms, silkworms, butterworms...advice wanted.....

I am going to try ordering feeders off the internet. I was wondering some stuff about silkworms and butterworms when compared to mealworms and superworms. How hard is it to gutload silkworms? has a gutload for butterworms been discovered yet? how many mealies would one silkworm (1/2"-1" silkworm) equal? how many mealies would one butterworm equal? which do you prefer to feed (out of those 4)? can you leave silkworms and butterworms in the cage for more than 1 hour without them eating each other or attacking the leo? which do leos seem to have the best time hunting and eating? where can you buy the above feeders?

Silkworms eat either mulberry leaves, or silkworm chow. They don't eat anything else (well they can eat other greens but typically, it kills them after awhile). Butterworms can't eat anything other than teh Tebo plant, which growns in Chile (no clue if you can get that plant in North America, if you can, son't see why you can't feed them that).

Superworms eat bran I think, but i am not sure about that.

Silkworms and butter worms can be left alone in the cage, they won't do anything to your leos. Superworms and mealworms, I think are fine left in the cage as well, but they may burrow into the substrate, depending on what you use. One inch silkies would be equal to two or more mealworms. The bigger teh silkworm is, hte more filling and nutricious it is. My bearded dragon can up between 6-10 one inch silkworms, but this decreases as the silkworms get bigger. (they can grow to about three inches long). Butters, not sure, never had any, but they look to be quite plump so would be more filling than mealies. Both silkworms and butterworms have soft bodies, so there is almost no waste so have more food value per volumn than mealies or supers (who have heavy chitin).

Hope this helps.
