I have for long now been wanting a monitor. I used to have a Savannah for the longest time, but I want a bigger one this time around. I'm planing to build a large cage for it and I've found out everything I need. The only thing I'm having trouble with is to actually find one. Who's a good breeder and where should I get it from?
Any preference getting a male or female? I'd like a male, but I'm not sure if either one gets bigger or, like tegus, the male gets that big honking head.

Pro Exotics but I think they are sold out Dec thru March is the best time to get a blackthroat from Pro Exotics

Frank Retes of Goannaranch has them on occaision (WT), ProExotics had some CBB BTs in 2003, Dan Turner at Tarpit Reptile had 80 CBB BTs in 2002. Now that you mentioned this there will be several classified adds claiming CBB WT and BTs, unfortunately it shows how many will try to rip you off by selling you an import.
