Getting SIGB's in UK!

uromastyx May 08, 2004 05:52 PM

Hi I noticed there are a few people from the UK on here which is brill for me! I'm buying a pair of Candoia carinata paulsoni from Snakes and Adders in Leeds - the female is Black and White and the male is Red - they are last years youngsters (they are about 12 inches. I was just wondering what size set up is sufficient for the pair or will they be better seperated? I know they need fairly high humididty and temepratures at around 80 - 85, but can't seem to find many care sheets on them. I keep Hogg Islands, Dwarf Imperators and a few other boids but know these are a bit different so I thought I'd ask for some info before I buy them. I'm sure Charles at Snakes and Adders will give me loads of info before I buy them but just thought I'd check with you lot first!
P.S. I noticed Stephen was from Newcastle; I'm from Middlesbrough so not a thousand miles away!

Hello I sold them to Snakes&Adders because they know reptiles, keep them well all'n'all a good shop. D.O.B 06/10/02 . Photo's on pet-hobbyist photo-site.
Keep them separtly (they feed better that way)
Viv size 24"L 12"W 18" with several branches,2 or 3 hides and a large water bowl, I use bark-chips as a substrate for all my Candoias.
Feed on fuzzes then hoppers (feed at night)
Good luck Stephenl

Glad to know who the breeders of my little uns are! I'm going to collect them today, can't wait! Are they related then? Do you have a web-site I could browse? I've joined the Yahoo!Candoia group so you may see me on there!

Congrats on your purchase! And welcome to the world of Candoia.Other than my Cal Kings I have never been so enthused about a species of snake. I wish I would have stumbled unto them long before I did Randy

Yeah, I know what you mean! They must be one of the most stunning non-venomous snakes that can be kept in captivity! I'm in love already! I git bitten last night from the male but he let go immediately, bless him! While I was in Snakes and Adders they offered me a silver pair of Paulsoni at a knock down price, but at the moment I'm short of cash otherwise I would have snapped them up! Already thinking of getting some Viper boas if they become available!
