Hi Shannon,
I did that same pairing the other day. I got my first hondo breedings of the year a couple days before that. But i had intended on breeding an albino female x an anery het-albino male. But he kept thrashing her around and pushing her into the roof really hard. So I put a male hondo with him-(a little smaller) to see if they will combat and maybe make him want to breed more. So after he pushed the other male around for a little bit I put the female back with him and he went onto her like he was gonna breed then he tried to eat her. Like 3 different times. So i pulled them apart and put her with my ghost male and they hooked up really quyick and nicely-no biting, lol. But stayed locked up for about 45 minutes. Have you ever seen a hondo try to eat the other one before ?, talk to you later,
Jeff
PS-I'll post pics of some hondos breeding soon. I have to take some but they just started so I have a few weeks to get some pics.
Yeah,I have seen agressive behavior before but its usually the female?
I had a dbl-het snow female that didn't breed for two years cause she wouldn't let the male near her?
I starting thinking maybe it was a male but I remember getting a clutch from her the first year I tried.
So for two years (02 and 03) I got no eggs from her cause she was so pissey she would just toss the male up against the side of the cage and it was like wwf in there.
This year I bred a huge albino het anery male to her and she let him with no problem?
The only bad thing is she had one stuck in her and died a few days after laying.
Bummer cause five foot plus female dbl-het snows are hard to find.
Later shannon
