Second clutching climacophoras?

elrojo Jun 16, 2003 03:20 PM

My female E.climacophora laid eggs a month ago. She's been eating like a horse and has put weight back on quickly. I don't want to be greedy, or burn out a great breeder, but I've had folks interested in the hatchlings and another clutch would ensure I have enough females to fill orders.
Were this a corn snake, I'd start pairing them together now, but I know little about protocall for this species.
Thanks

I have double-clutched climacophoras. If she's got the weight, pair them up again.

Checked on my female yesterday, she was due to shed any day. Opened the box and she had. And there was a single egg in the cage! She laid almost five weeks earler to the day! I had felt her after laying and felt no eggs. Plus she laid 14, which is a huge clutch for the species, so I began feeding her heavily as usual. She's eaten like a horse, and I never felt a "bound egg". I'm not sure if the egg will be good, but it's normal size. Anyone experienced such? I called my "guru" and he was stumped.
