crested gecko questions...

ericchen May 08, 2004 09:25 PM

do u guys know any breeders out there that solely use the T-Rex crested gecko diet?...like their babies and adults are solely on the diet except occasional cricket as treats?....cuz my mom would be thrilled that im getting something that doesn't eat live insects....also do cresteds relish mealworms as treats?...or do they only take crickets?

i would think sandfire dragon ranch would. But i got my crested from Anthony Caponetto (acreptiles.com) and it eats the CGD fine.

just go to anthony caponetto's site (www.acreptiles.com) and read his info for basic info...he also has a link on his site to a very in depth article on care for crested geckos by allen repashy...pretty much everything you need to know is on there

do what alexx said. I just mix 1/4 teaspoon (smallest amount on our measuring spoons) CGD and 1/2 teaspoon water, mix it up. and place it in a tiny "bowl" made from the bottom of a margarine cup. I hand fed it the first few days i got it so it would get used to the CGD. you won't notice it feeding though because they are so small.

im sure most wouldn't mind being hand fed, but maybe some might. Mine displays its best colors during and after handleing. You just have to be a lot more gentle with these than with leos.
